Mini Maven: First tell us, where are you from, how old are you? Where did you grow up and what’s your family life like?
Amiah Miller: I was born in Virginia and when I was four, we moved to Florida. At age 10, my family relocated to California. I am now 12. My family life is an adventure. We all have crazy schedules, different interests, but we all have each other’s backs and support one another 100%. My family means everything to me.
MM: How did you first get into acting?
AM: I started with print jobs for fun and then decided to start auditioning for commercials. I started booking commercials and realized I really loved “set life.” I have been hooked ever since.
MM: Was acting your first love? Or do you love modeling just as much?
AM: I started modeling first, and I still love modeling just as much.
MM: What is your favorite part about your job?
AM: The different people I get to meet and the places I get to travel to and explore.
MM: What was it like working on the new Planet of the Apes movie?

AM: Soul Surfer is very inspirational to me-I love that movie.
MM: Do you think you’ll fall onto another career path as you get older, or do you plan to stay in the entertainment industry?
AM: Oh honey, the entertainment industry is not getting rid of me ever! 🙂 I am here for life.
MM: What do you think is the most important trait for a young girl in the entertainment industry to have?
AM: Confidence, passion and courage. There are many ups and downs but with those three traits you will always succeed.
MM: Any advice for young girls who are looking to get into acting?
AM: Every rejection is God’s protection! Always keep your head up, work hard and always give 100%. You can be anything you want to be!
MM: To date, which directors have you had the opportunity to work with? TV or film?
AM: Film: Matt Reeves, David Sandberg, Will Wallace, Adam Gierasch, and Darrin Fletcher. TV: Lee Rose, Shelley Jessen, Victor Gonzalez, Adam Weissman, Gail Mancuso, and Michael Dinner.
MM: Can you tell our readers what it’s like to be on a motion picture set, working with famed actors?
